Broker's Comments
Westerly’s second most popular model (after the smaller Centaur) still has a large and loyal fan-base. When I first started sailing, rather more than a few years ago, the Westerly Konsort was pretty much the boat I aspired to own. I recall being impressed by how solid and reassuring a boat less than 30’ long could be, and how roomy and comfortable it seemed below decks. Outside, the decks are wide and the boat feels weighty and solid underfoot. Inside there are comfortable bunks and a good split between accommodation and storage. This 1982 example is a little unusual: her saloon has been converted (to a high standard) into a dinette layout. It works well, and provides an easy way to have a second double available for occasional use. The interior is in good order. The cabin sole has been rebuilt and the varnish gleams. Headlinings have been replaced throughout. The fore-cabin has been entirely re-upholstered with 5” foam cushions, and there is a roll of the same material sufficient to re-upholster the rest of the boat to the same standard. The heads were replaced in 2011. In the same year the owner fitted (among other items) a gas water heater, new radar and a combined chart-plotter/radar display/depth sounder touch screen unit. She has Eberspacher warm air heating and a wind generator keeps her three batteries (2009) topped up. Her engine is original but was completely overhauled in 1995 and has been regularly serviced since. The injectors were recently professionally overhauled and I am informed that the engine starts and runs faultlessly. Overall she is in good condition for her age, and appears to be in good order, with a very comprehensive inventory. It’s clear that she has been sailed regularly and maintained carefully, and everything is set up just right. These boat details are subject to contract.
