Broker's Comments
A fine example of this classic Shetland of the 1970’s, this boat has be lovingly cared for and improved by the present owners. The boat has been extensively refitted at Shetland Boats with new tinted windows and screen, and new curtains, carpets and seats in the cabin and cockpit. The owners have also fitted new cabin lighting, navigation lights, water pump, hob and grill as well as a very effective solar powered battery charger. The canopy is about 4 years old and is in very good condition. The topsides are still in the original gel coat, and there are no signs of hull osmosis. The canopy is about 4 years old and is in very good condition.
The boat has a very economical 10hp Mariner 4stroke outboard that easily allows cruising up the Broads maximum of 6 mph. Two Quicksilver 15 litre fuel tanks (one with gauge) are included giving a 2 day cruising range. The boat has 2 ‘v’ berths which convert from the front cabin dinette. A third person can
sleep across the transom seat at the rear of the cockpit. There is a toilet/storage compartment of
the main cabin equipped with a Porta
Potti. As well as the gas hob/grill the boat has a built in oven and sink with cupboard space under. Many ccessories are included, such as an almost new self inflating life jacket, 2 fire extinguishers, fire blanket, boat hooks, fenders, life ring, Calor Gas cylinder, mooring stakes and hammer. The boat had a new Boat Safety Certificate (valid for 4 years) in March 2008. The beam is 6’10” so the boat could be used on the UK’s narrow lock canals. The present mooring is available to the new owner if required at £450 p.a.
