Broker's Comments
London residential moorings of this calibre come up once in a blue moon – and this one is a stunner . . .
The boat, a lovely Dutch Tjalk from 1923, has masses of interior space and has scope to be re-configured to the new owner’s specification. Enter from the aft deck into the galley, which leads into a large, open saloon with masses of headroom and parquet flooring. Further forward is a the second cabin which has two bunks to port and an office / study area to starboard. The forward (main) cabin is a generous double with walk-around bed. Generally, the interior is what I would call 'traditional' - but could easily be transformed into a contemporary living space.
Outside, the partially-covered aft cockpit has stunning river views and the upper deck area has a huge amount of useable outdoor space. The area is wonderfully tranquil, is surrounded by trees and overlooks a nature reserve.
PLEASE NOTE: some of the photographs show two boats tied up on the port side: these will be removed in the next few days.
This is an exceptional deal for someone looking for a central London mooring. The current owner of the boat also owns the mooring and is including five years free residential mooring with the price of the boat (and negotiable thereafter, at a fair price to be agreed); the new owners will be responsible for their own services such as council tax, electricity and water.
