Built in 1920 in the Netherlands, this dutch barge, tjalk, live on board barge was last surveyed in 2010 and last out of the water in 2016 for hull paint & anodes.
The aft deck leads direct to the wheelhouse via glazed "French doors". Huge convivial wheelhouse with helm (no lonely captains on this boat!) . A trap in the wheelhouse floor gives access to the engine room, which is also accessible by a little door behind the steps leading to the galley.
The aft deck is covered by a sun awning, with removable sides to make a totally closed space, especially done for the winter.
On the foredeck is the gas locker and the cooling unit (MITSUBISHI MUZ SF 42 V). A hatch gives access to the forward peak where is the heating unit, brand KABOLA, model HR 500, 20 kW, and its fuel tank.
Side deck are all on one level and allow ease of movement onboard

A galvanided chain for the anchor of 40 meters and 28 kg.
A second manuel anchor of 15 kg is available with warp

The wheelhouse and aft deck are all on the same level giving ease of movement aboard and really convivial day space. A sofa in the wheelhouse converts to a double bed 140 X 200 cm. Large windows for a great luminosity.
4 steps down forward is the main living area. These are the only steps in the boat making it a very practical liveaboard proposition.

In the saloon the sofa converts to another double bed if needed. Good cupboards & storage on each side.
Forwards is the cabin with a bed of 140 X 200 cm, storage space under. On starboard is a place for the washing and dryer machine, hidden by a curtain. The same space on port is a large cupboard. Between this two spaces, a large drawer cabinet.
5 thermostatic radiators provide central heating. Main thermostat in the saloon. The central heating boiler also supplies the hot water.
All the windows are equipped with blindes, except in the cabin where there are curtains. The walls are white wood & saloon lighting is Leds giving a cosy and clean feeling.
