Broker's Comments

Boatshed London are delighted to offer this 15m Dutch Barge Tjalk for sale. Available to purchase with a mooring at St Katharine's Dock if required where it can be used as a characterful London pied-a-terre.

Built in 1903, this barge has seen some significant upgrades added to it recently with an extension to the superstructure to create a good sized cabin in the bow. The topsides and hull were repainted in 2021 and it was fitted with Permateek decking along the side decks and foredeck. There is a survey from April 2021 available to view. The leeboards and rudder were sanded down and reoiled at the same time.

This barge is presented in truly excellent condition for use as a liveaboard. If the intention was to get her back sailing, there may be some work required to the rig and sails but from our inspection, the mast and boom are also in really good condition.

She is fitted with a modern Solé SM-75 engine that has clocked up 450 hours.

The leisure mooring can be transferred to the new owner if desired. The marina will charge a 5% transfer fee (of the sale price). Current mooring fees are £15,250 per annum.
