Broker's Comments
This lovely clinker dinghy is a work of art in her own right. She was originally built by Lambie and Son, Wallsend-on-Tyne, and designed on the lines of a barge tender; she has been rebuilt plank by plank in 1991 by her present owner who is a retired boat builder.
All the planking is Iroko with oak frames, all the thwarts and laminated knees are Iroko as well, this boat is in immaculate condition throughout and would make a lovely tender to any classic yacht or be great for exploring rivers and creeks and picnic lunches on secluded beaches.
There is a set of oar’s as well as a sculling oar and the standing lugsail will push this lovely dinghy downwind quite nicely. The out board has been well maintained and is in really good condition. I would hate to think what she would cost to build if she were commissioned privately but I think this is a very fair price for a professionally hand built wooden boat in absolute tip top shape.
