Broker's Comments
This historic barge offers delightful living accommodation with two separate cabins, saloon, and galley. There is a storage area at the bow and the large engine room at the stern that can be used for storing wood/coal for the solid fuel stove.
Heating is via a cooking range - a fore-runner to the Aga, which keeps the whole boat nice and warm. Hot water is provided by a calorifier.
The main cabin has a full-sized double bed with ample storage space. The second cabin currently also has a double but could be changed to become an ideal child's bedroom.
Originally commissioned as an Inland Waterways workboat, she is heavily built. Below the waterline, she is protected with an epoxy paint coating and the hull survey undertaken in Feb 2019 indicated that there has been little deterioration of the hull, having been previously inspected in 2008 and 2012.
The current BSS is valid until May 2022.
Offered as a guide only, the current mooring fees for the leisure mooring are approximately £5000 pa, but potential buyers are strongly advised to make their own inquiries with the mooring management.
There is a 5% transfer fee for the mooring, payable by the vendor.
