Broker's Comments
Described in a recent yachting press review as arguably the best Westerly ever made, the Corsair was a Westerly success story. Surprisingly quick for her size, she can be easily handled by a crew of two but can swallow up eight easily, whether at sea or in a marina. This is a well-maintained example of a Mark 1 Corsair, which benefits from considerable updating and improvements. She has been re-upholstered throughout; virtually all the deck hatches have been replaced and she has been re-engined with a modern Volvo Penta 2030. All the usual Westerly virtues of the period are in place above decks, but she is particularly impressive below decks. There is wood everywhere, and no opportunity to create lockers and storage has been overlooked. The Corsair has an enduring reputation as a serious go-anywhere yacht, with a lasting top-quality pedigree and available at reasonable cost.
