Broker's Comments
Of French manufacture, the Challenger brand isn’t perhaps up there in the sailing public consciousness with names like Jeanneau and Beneteau, but this modestly-sized yacht has a lot going for her. First of all, she’s versatile. She has a lifting keel that reduces her draught from about five and half feet to two and a bit, letting her live happily on shoal or drying moorings, and able to sneak out on just a bit of tide. She sails well, with lovely rounded lines. Her decks are uncluttered and wide, as is the cockpit, which boasts plenty of storage. Lines are all led back from the mast. Inside she’s cavernous for her length, and pride of place is given to a big linear galley on the port side, opposite a spacious dinette set-up. There’s plenty of room for a family to enjoy both the sailing and the relaxation period following. Overall this pretty yacht is in good condition and has been well looked after by her current owners. Construction is similar to that of a Sadler 26 with foam sandwich giving her same unsinkable benefits.
